Hello friends!
Today I’m sharing a unique no-sew junk journal idea that I’m so excited about! This project is inspired by the beautiful tutorial from Ashley over at @darlingcottagediary, whose video sparked this whole experiment. Her hinge-and-anchor method is such a clever way to bind a journal withoutsewing—though I’ll admit, I had to watch it a few times before attempting it myself!

In this tutorial, I walk you through how to create an accordion-style hinge system paired with an anchor mechanism to hold your signatures securely in place. It’s a really fun alternative to traditional binding methods, especially if you want to keep things simple, beginner-friendly, and glue-only.

I did run into a bit of pressure tearing (keeping it real!), so I’ll definitely revisit this method later to troubleshoot and refine. Even though it won’t hold a ton of bulk like a standard junk journal, it is absolutely perfect for a more compact project—especially our #JJChristmasPrompts25 Christmas Junk Journal Prompt Challenge!
