More Than The Page – Episode 1 | Triple Flip Writing Space + Large Hidden Pocket

Welcome to Episode 1 of my brand new junk journal series – More Than The Page.

This series is all about creating interactive journal elements that go beyond a single surface. We’ll be building projects that reveal hidden writing spaces, layered flips, secret pockets, and thoughtful structures that add both function and beauty to your journal pages.

In today’s episode, I’m sharing a triple flip writing space featuring:

• A large hidden pocket

• A gusseted front pocket

• Three layered flips with generous writing space

• An adorable focal front pocket detail

This design adds depth, movement, and multiple writing opportunities while remaining easy to attach to your journal page.

I’ve provided the full template measurements below so you can follow along and recreate this design in your own journals.

I created several variations using beautiful digital kits along with the images we’ve been working with in the Moments in Time (Grandma’s Kitchen) and Rooted in Him journals.

I love how this piece hides generous writing space while still feeling cohesive and intentional on the page.
