Creative Belly Band Series | Magnetized Double Wrap-Around Writing Space Belly
In this episode of the Creative Belly Band Series, I'm sharing one of my favorite interactive belly band designs to date.
This project features two horizontal magnetized wrap-around writing spaces built directly into a layered belly band. Each wrap-around booklet opens to reveal hidden journaling space while remaining securely closed with concealed magnets, adding both function and a beautiful interactive element to your journal pages.
Behind the belly band are three oversized journal cards, providing even more room for writing, photographs, keepsakes, favorite quotes, or additional ephemera. Together, these elements create a project filled with layers, movement, and opportunities for personal storytelling.
Although this design looks detailed, it comes together one step at a time and can easily be customized using your favorite papers, digital kits, colors, and embellishments. Whether you're creating a vintage journal, a shabby chic keepsake, or a nature-inspired album, this structure adapts beautifully to your own creative style.
I hope this project inspires you to look beyond a traditional belly band and explore the wonderful possibilities that interactive ephemera can bring to your journals.
Thank you for spending some creative time with me today.
