Vintage Folded Journal Writing Space | Double Diagonal Belly Bands & Hidden Writing Cards

Welcome to another episode of our Creative Belly Band Series!

Today we are creating a softly layered folded journal writing space filled with vintage textures, interactive details, and removable writing cards tucked into double diagonal belly bands.

This project was designed to feel both beautiful and functional — a place to hold thoughts, memories, journaling cards, or quiet little pieces of ephemera. The front features intersecting diagonal belly bands that create movement and layered interest while also holding extra writing cards securely in place.

The entire piece slides into a horizontal belly band inside the journal, making it removable and interactive while still feeling integrated into the page design.

Throughout this project, we work with distressed edges, soft florals, aged script backgrounds, lace textures, ribbon details, and layered collage elements to create a vintage-inspired writing space that feels calm, meaningful, and gently worn with time.

This style of project works beautifully in junk journals, memory journals, vintage-style keepsakes, soft feminine journals, or heritage-inspired creative books.

As always, perfection is not at play in the studio. This is simply a space to create, explore, and enjoy the process.
