One Little Closure, So Many Flips | Interactive Writing Folio

Hello Tuesday! 🤎🍂

There is something I love about a project that keeps revealing more than you expect.

For this Creative Belly Bands project, I’m creating a multi-flip writing folio held closed with a simple belly band. It begins as a compact piece on the journal page, but once that belly band slides away, the folio opens through multiple flips—and each one gives us another full writing space.

I especially love the contrast between how contained this project looks when it is closed and how much usable space is waiting inside.

I’m creating my sample with the warm florals, deep greens and beautiful autumn tones I’ve been using in my Gathering In journal. The little “crisp air” focal point on the closure felt perfect for this one. Though this particular sample is not for the Gathering In journal.

This is the kind of interactive ephemera I enjoy most: beautiful on the page, fun to discover and still leaving plenty of room for the words and memories that eventually make a journal our own.
