An Upside Down Pocket with 20½ Inches of Hidden Writing Space

Sometimes a simple pocket just needs to be turned upside down. ❤️
For today’s Belly Band Ideas project, I’m playing with an upside down pocket that hides something you wouldn’t expect from the finished page—a 20½-inch pull-down writing space.
The long writing section folds back and forth and nestles completely inside the pocket, keeping all of that usable space tucked neatly away until you pull it down. I love projects that can sit quietly on a journal page and then become something entirely different once you begin opening them.
I finished mine with soft florals, rounded corners, a layered focal card and a butterfly.
This one isn’t complicated. It’s simply another way to look at a familiar journal element and ask, “What else can this do?”
I hope it gives you an idea to carry into your own journals and inspires you to keep looking for unexpected places to add writing space.
