Staggered Stories | Five Rounded Tags & a Hidden Side Pocket | Gathering In Journal

There is something about a pocket filled with little stories waiting to be discovered. 🤎

Today I am adding another interactive piece to my Gathering In journal, and this one has such a lovely way of showing off what is tucked inside!

The front pocket holds five rounded tags, each one staggered so the curved tops create a beautiful layered display. Rather than hiding all that pretty paper, the pocket lets it become part of the design.

And because you know I enjoy finding room for one more little surprise, there is an additional side-loading pocket in the base of the project. More places to tuck a note, a memory, or a little something worth keeping.

I made four samples to share with you.

Three have that earthy, botanical Gathering In feeling, with olive greens, aged papers, delicate flowers, vintage imagery and soft ribbon ties. The fourth takes on an entirely different personality for my In the SWEET Meadow journal, with rosy florals, handwritten script and cheerful red ribbon.

I love seeing how the same construction can tell such different stories.

The curved layers, the little glimpses of artwork, and the words tucked into the collages make each one feel like a tiny collection of moments. I hope this gives you a fresh idea for your own journal pages and encourages you to make the design your own. 🤎
