A Vellum Window with a Hidden Reveal & Gusseted Pocket | Gathering In Journal
Happy Thursday!
🤎 There is something lovely about a little mystery tucked into a journal page.
For today’s Gathering In project, I’m playing with a die-cut vellum window. At first, you only catch a softened glimpse of the image beneath it.
Then the piece opens, and all those beautiful colors and details come into view. I love that moment when the picture finally tells its whole story!
But you know I can’t leave well enough alone when there’s an opportunity for more function.
The piece beneath the window is also a gusseted pocket, with room for two generously sized journal cards. And the whole ensemble is built onto a full journal page that is already folded and ready to be sewn into a signature.
I’m sharing several finished examples so you can see how differently this idea feels with changing papers, images, and little details. It’s that combination of softness, discovery, and useful space that makes this one so much fun to create.
