So Much Hidden Writing Space in ONE Journal Page! | Junk Journal Ephemera
Happy Tuesday!
Today I’m continuing work on the Highland Love Journal with a full-page ephemera piece that holds so much more than you might expect when you first see it.
I wanted this project to feel substantial without sacrificing writing space, so the decorative layers on the front are doing more than simply making the piece beautiful. Three diamond shapes create the focal point and are attached to the top of a belly band, with a small triangular writing space tucked right into the design.
Behind all of those layers are two large booklet-style writing spaces along with four generously sized journal cards. There is an incredible amount of room here for memories, stories, photographs, little notes and all of those things that may become part of a life together.
For Highland Love, that feels especially important. This journal is being created for a newly married couple beginning their own adventure in Scotland, and I want it to have room not only for the beautiful occasions, but for the ordinary pieces of life they will want to remember years from now.
I love how the soft heather colors, Highland landscapes, florals, tartan and that wonderful Highland cow all come together in this one. And right at the center are the two of them, walking together through the heather beneath the words, “Wherever we wander.”
That seems just about perfect for this journal.
