Welcome to Pockets of Possibility, a brand-new creative series where we're exploring the many ways a simple pocket can become something wonderfully unexpected! 🌿🤎

Our first project is The Collared Keepsake Pocket, created especially for my Gathering In Journal.

Gathering In is inspired by the gentle changing of the seasons - the quiet beauty of worn books, botanical treasures, weathered papers, and the little things we collect and carry with us. I wanted this pocket to feel like a natural extension of that story.

This full-page ephemera design features a layered collared pocket filled with four removable journal cards, offering plenty of room for thoughts, memories, and personal reflections.

And because I love finding ways to make a journal page work a little harder without losing its beauty, there's an additional fold-open writing space on the reverse side of the page!

The soft greens, aged textures, and vintage imagery bring together so many of the elements I love about this journal. Even the little words tucked into the design - “Being here is enough for this moment” and “Stay tender” - seem to belong in this quiet gathering of papers and stories.

Pockets of Possibility is a new series devoted to exploring creative pocket constructions, interesting layers, and those little interactive surprises that make handmade journals such a joy to create.

While today's project is designed for Gathering In, the construction can easily take on an entirely different personality with the papers and images you choose.

I hope you'll find inspiration to explore your own possibilities, experiment with your favorite papers, and create something that feels uniquely yours.
