Crash Your Trash | Turn Packaging into Beautiful Lace Window Ephemera
Hello Friends,
Before you toss that packaging, take another look at it. There may be a beautiful little piece of ephemera hiding inside.
Today we are Crashing Our Trash and turning ordinary packaging into these wonderfully textured lace window pieces. I’m using the openings already found in the packaging as my starting point, then adding paper, images, butterflies and bits from my stash behind layers of wonderfully imperfect lace.
What I especially enjoy about this project is that no two pieces need to be alike. The packaging determines the shape and size, the scraps determine the direction, and the lace brings everything together with that soft, timeworn feeling I love.
These can become journal embellishments, tuck spots, decorative page elements or simply beautiful little pieces to add wherever your journal needs something special.
This is also one of those projects that reminds me why I save some of the odd things I do. Something destined for the trash can become the beginning of something completely different.
So dig into that recycling bin, pull out some lace and scraps, and come create with me.
