A Little Gathering of Keepsakes | Quiet Gatherings Journal

Hello Friends,

Today we are returning to the Quiet Gatherings journal, and this project really does feel like a gathering.

A long piece of coffee-dyed fabric stretches across the inside cover, slipping beneath the elastic binding and becoming a soft pocket on either side of the journal. I added a beautiful piece of vintage crochet lace along the bottom and then began thinking about what those pockets might hold.

Instead of simply filling them with journal cards, I wanted the contents to feel like a little collection of things someone had gathered and kept.

The centerpiece is a folded letter packet that opens to reveal plenty of writing space, surrounded by small pieces of ephemera, vellum, old photographs, florals and softly aged textiles. Some pieces are useful, some are beautiful, and together they have the feeling of little remnants tucked away because they meant something.

I especially love how the fabric pocket becomes part of the journal itself while everything tucked inside remains removable, ready to be taken out, unfolded, written upon and rearranged.

Quiet Gatherings continues to become exactly what I hoped it would be—a place for beautiful, ordinary things to rest together.

Come create with me.
