Hidden in the Layers | Window Pocket Flip with Layered Journal Cards

There is something I love about a project that doesn’t reveal everything at once.

For today’s Quiet Gatherings, I’m creating a full-page Window Pocket Flip filled with layers, tucked-away journal cards and just enough mystery to make you wonder what is hiding underneath.

The window becomes part of the experience. As the small, medium and large journal cards are removed, the view through it begins to change. Images appear, disappear and give way to something else entirely. Beneath all of those layers is even more room for writing.

I kept the palette soft and quiet with muted florals, aged papers and vintage imagery, allowing the construction itself to create the interest. The segmented woman on the front adds another layer without overwhelming the page, while the pieces tucked behind her build depth and curiosity.

This is the kind of interactive ephemera I especially enjoy creating—not because it is complicated for the sake of being complicated, but because there is something lovely about slowing down and discovering a page a little at a time.

I hope this project gives you an idea or two for creating your own layered window, using the papers and images you already have.

Thank you for spending part of your day creating with me.
